How to reset your password if you don’t know it

If you've forgotten your password, please follow the instructions below for using the User Account Manager to change your password.

Step 1. Open a web browser and go to https://uam.kccd.edu.

Step 2. Enter your Student/Employee User ID or College Assigned Email address. If you do not remember your User ID or email address, click on "Forgot User ID or Email Address", enter your last name, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, your Date of Birth and then click the "Get Student/Employee User ID" button.

Step 3. Click on the "Forgot Password" button.

If requested, enter your last name, the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number, your Date of Birth and then click the "Get Security Question" button; otherwise, proceed to Step 4.

Note: If you entered incorrect identifying information or your account cannot be located, you will receive an error message. Please check the spelling of your Last Name, the last four digits of your Social Security Number and birth date and retry. If you still receive an error message, please call the Help Desk at 877-382-3508 for assistance.

  • If you receive a message that you do not have a security question set up, go back and repeat Step 2, and enter your 6 digit DOB (mmddyy format) for the PIN/password. Click Next and follow the prompts to create your security question and password.

Step 4. Enter the answer to your security question and click the "Next" button.

Note: If you do not answer your security question correctly, you will be returned to the Main page and receive an error message. At this point, you will have to click the Forgot Password again. If you do not have a security question and your 6 digit DOB did not work for accessing the setup process, you will receive an error message and you will need to go to the Admissions and Records with a valid form of ID to get assistance with setting a password for your account.

Step 5. Enter your desired new password in the "New Password" AND "Verify Password" fields. Please note the complexity requirements displayed to the right of the fields.

Note: You may be required to select a new security question and answer. You can also change your security question and answer at this time.

Step 6. Click the "Change Password" button.
If you successfully changed your password, you should be able to log into the system.

Note: The password you created will be the one used for logging into systems including the campus computers, email, InsidePortal, myBanWeb, Canvas and other systems.
